Skate Sharpening & Equipment

We use the E-S4 automated sharpening system — the same technology trusted by NHL teams — to deliver a consistent, precise edge every single time. No guesswork, no inconsistency. Just a perfect sharpen matched to your skating style and preferences.

Treadmill Skating Training

Our treadmill training program is one of the most effective ways to develop your skating stride — off the ice, with real-time professional feedback. All of our trainers are Kinesiology graduates, ensuring every athlete receives professional biomechanical instruction and stride analysis.

How It Works

Skaters are led through a variety of progressive drills by athletic training professionals based on their current skill level. These drills help improve biomechanical positioning while executing a proper stride.

Trainers watch and instruct as the player skates on the synthetic ice in real time, as well as on a delayed video monitor, to analyze their stride post-interval. With trainer instruction, correction, and guidance — along with video feedback — athletes are able to make corrections that suit all learning styles.

Treadmill training is high-intensity interval training with one-on-one attention from a trainer, with periods of rest. The interval format mimics the fast-paced hockey game while enforcing constant correction on the synthetic ice. Skaters learn how to use their body effectively and efficiently, translating these skills to real game-pressured situations.

When to Expect Results

Research-based programs tested through treadmill training show that you can expect to start seeing physiological and technical adaptation results (muscle memory) by the 8th training session, when training consistently. The majority of skaters at Pro Stride begin to see changes in their stride after their very first session, after learning basic skating mechanics. The greatest results come from athletes committed to the process.
